Commander's Holiday Message
Dec 18, 2017
Family and Friends,
As we head into this holiday season my thoughts go back to the 1954 film White Christmas and the Irving Belin song "Count Your Blessing (Instead of Sheep)". The lyrics are so simple, yet meaningful: "When I'm worried and I can't sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep". We are truly blessed to be alive in this day and age, in this country and to be members of this great organization, which we refer to as The American Legion Family.
Take time this holiday season to reflect upon your accomplishments and blessings. Remember the reason for the season; Love, Hope, Peace, Joy and Goodwill. Thank those that are serving in our Armed Forces and spend time with your family and friends.
On behalf of the nearly 370,000 members of the Sons of The American Legion, myself and my family; Happy Holidays! Thank you for generating millions of smiles on the faces of those that we serve, I am so blessed to have you as part of my extended family and to be a member of the great American Legion Family.
