Wreaths Across America

Aug 12, 2016

Georgia Legion Family,

Again this year, the Department of Georgia American Legion Riders (DOG ALR) is a sponsor for Wreaths Across America. The goal of Wreaths Across America is to place a Wreath at each veteran's grave in all of our State and National Cemeteries. DOG ALR sponsors six locations; Georgia National Cemetery, Marietta National Cemetery, Georgia War Memorial Cemetery-Milledgeville, Georgia War Memorial Cemetery- Glenville, Andersonville National Cemetery and Chattanooga National Cemetery. On Saturday, December 17th, your Legion Riders, along with many other volunteers, will place the donated wreaths on the graves. Wreaths are $15 each. My challenge is that each Legion Post, Auxiliary Unit, SAL Squadron, ALR Chapter and District organization donates a minimum of 10 wreaths at a total cost of $150. To reach the goal of providing a wreath at every grave nationwide, more are certainly needed and welcome. Please also consider 15 @ $225, 17 @ $255, 20 @ $300 or more. A donation form for each sponsored cemetery is attached for your convenience that you can fill out electronically and print for mailing. Forms include our Fundraising Group ID (GA0024P). The rebate received back by the Legion Riders will be donated to the Department Commanders VA Hospital Project. So, you will not only be honoring our veterans who have answered the final call, you will be helping Georgia's veterans at VA hospitals and clinics around the State.

Please print the attached forms and make them available for individuals who may wish to make a donation. Individual donations may also be made quickly and securely by going to our website, dogalr.org, clicking on the Wreaths Across America tab on the left, click on the online donation link and scroll down to the "Locations We Support" to select the cemetery of your choice. Donations may be made "In Honor of" or "In Memory of" anyone that you designate. Don't wait until the last minute. Donate now.

Don't Say I Should Have. Say I Did.
