Peachtree City Auxiliary Unit 50, along with District Four, will be hosting this years Four Chaplains Remembrance Ceremony on Sunday, February 7th, 2pm til 4pm @ Peachtree City Christian Church, 500 Kedron Drive, PTC, 30269. There will be refreshments immediately following the ceremony.

Please pass along this info to your Auxiliary & Post membership. This ceremony embodies the principles of selfless service to humanity without regard to race, creed, ethnicity, or religious beliefs. Four U.S. Army Chaplains, of various religious beliefs, gave up their life jackets and prayed together when their transport ship, the U.S.A.T Dorchester was torpedoed eighty miles south of Greenland on February 3, 1943. The Chaplains came from different faiths and backgrounds and due to their encouragement they are attributed to saving numerous lives.

The ceremony consists of both Auxiliary & Post members and will begin with a parade of District Four Auxiliary & Post flags accompanied by their Post Commander & Auxiliary President, or a representative, (please be present at least 15minutes prior for line-up instructions). The Remembrance Ceremony will be approximately 30 minutes with various clergy from the community representing the Four Chaplains. If you have never attended this ceremony you are in for an emotional treat and if you have attended in the past you already know what a huge impact the ceremony has on all in attendance. Please forward this information to your Post & Unit members and encourage all to participate & attend.
