Homeless Veterans Stand Down on Sat., October 4

Dear VAVS Supporter,
The Atlanta VAMC will be hosting the Homeless Veterans Stand Down on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 7:30-3:30 pm. This will be our fifth year hosting Stand Down on the grounds of the Atlanta VA Medical Center. This initiative is very important and meeting the needs of the homeless Veterans is critical. The goal is to reach out to homeless Veterans and to bring them into the fold of the Atlanta VAMC, so they can receive the care they need and deserve.
Attached, please find an application for Stand Down. All volunteers 18 and over are welcome to participate; however, by regulation they must not have any of the following:
1. Been hospitalized for mental or physical issues in the last 6 months.
2. Be in an intensive treatment program.
3. Be required to volunteer as part of their treatment plan.
4. Be required to volunteer to meet legal requirements of community service hours.
If you are part of an organization or a group, we ask that all applications for your group be turned in at one time. Every individual is required to submit an application each year. All applications are due by close of business, September 8, 2014. Please email or mail your application(s) to Voluntary Service. **No late applications will be accepted.**
