Agnes Sasser Harrell, 93, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Black Jack Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Beauchamp and Rev. Bill McCamon officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with her grandsons serving as active pallbearers. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. Mrs. Harrell was born July 12, 1920 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of Joseph Melvin Sasser and Edith Watson Sasser. She was a 1937 graduate of West Bainbridge High School. She worked at Bainbridge State Hospital after her children were school aged, as a health service technician for the State of Georgia. Mrs. Harrell was a lifetime member of Black Jack Baptist Church, where she was also a Sunday school teacher and director of the GA’s. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where she served as State President in 1975-76. Her other memberships include the V.F.W. Auxiliary and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, quilting, and genealogy.

Survivors include her children, Bill Harrell and his wife, Laura, of Albany, GA, Pat Harrell Underwood of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Susan Harrell Driggars and her husband, Duane, of Bainbridge, GA, Deedy Harrell of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Jane Harrell Kinchen and her husband, Lesley, of Bainbridge, GA, and Glenn Harrell and his wife, Missy, of Bainbridge, GA; her brother, Watson Sasser and his wife, Sara, of Bainbridge, GA; her 14 grandchildren, Sherri Lewallen, Trey Harrell, Anna Gould, Tim Lane, Heidi Harrell, Matthew Lane, Kevin Lane, Casey Kinchen, Nicholas Underwood, Ashley Kinchen, Richard Underwood, Elisha Harrell, Cody Kinchen, and Dylan Harrell; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. D. Harrell; her brother, Emery "Pete" Sasser; and her sisters, Elah Moran, Eunice Dodson and Maxie Helen Lillethun.
