Atlanta VA Medical Center Stand Down

Dear Supporters:
I am pleased to announce that the 2013 Atlanta Homeless Veterans Stand Down has been scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Conducting the Stand Down on VA property affords us the opportunity to reach more homeless Veterans, especially those who may not have attended in the past. Stand Downs are one part of the many efforts to reach out and provide services to homeless Veterans.
Providing services to homeless Veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and benefits counseling, and referrals to a variety of other necessary services, such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment are just some of what is offered at Stand Downs.
Stand Downs are collaborative events, coordinated between local VAs, other government agencies, Community Partners, and Veterans Service Organizations that serve the homeless. In order to provide our homeless veterans with the support they need, we are again reaching out to a strong network of supporters like you. We are hoping that you will once again answer the call to serve by joining the dedicated individuals throughout our community for this year’s Homeless Veterans Stand Down.
