BE A LEGION BLOOD DONOR -- BE A LIFE SAVER to someone
The next Department statewide Donor Center blood drive will be held April 7-13. Please spread the word and get some donors from your area in to donate blood and platelets. This is our 3rd statewide blood drive and many areas have not gotten off ZERO yet. Lead by example by giving the gift of life yourself, your family, your district officer and post officers. This is a Legion Family event so invite the Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and the Legion Riders. Every donor center will have a Legion sign in sheet, if they don't call Bill Beaudin at 770-919-7109.
Many Cities have Legion posts and donor centers:
Athens, Gainesville (Red Cross & Life South), Columbus, Macon, Savannah (Red Cross & Blood Alliance), St. Mary's, Albany, Valdosta, Douglas, Thomasville, Cartersville, Dalton, Fort Oglethorpe, Rome, Augusta/Aiken 3 locations, Fort Gordon ASBP, Stockbridge, McDonough, Marietta (Red Cross & Atlanta Blood Services),
Duluth, Atlanta (Camp Creek, Midtown) and Alpharetta.
Pleas visit the Department website (www.galegion.org) for address, days, hours and phone number for each donor center. A lot of work has been done setting up this program but it won't work without your efforts on the local post level.
