This was a two day trip starting in Milledgeville Georgia V.A. hospital On Wednesday, 11/05/08. We toured that facility and proceeded to Dublin, Georgia that night where we attended a dinner at Dublin’s American Legion post 71 where Mark Wells, The Sons of the American Legion State of Georgia Commander awarded post 71 with their new Sons of the American Legion charter. It was a creation of a new Sons squadron for the State of Georgia.
We meet with the Dublin V.A. officials on Thursday morning, 11/06/08 and had a top level meeting with the Department of Georgia American Legion, Detachment Of Georgia Sons of the American Legion and top officials of the Dublin Veterans Administration Hospital. The hospital officials gave us a full report on how this hospital is serving and caring for our veterans. They answered our questions about care, Veterans needs and what programs this hospital is providing. This meeting lasted two hours plus and was very informative. After the meeting, We toured the Facility.
