It is with deep sorrow that the Georgia Department of Veterans Service informs you about this morning's passing of Robert Roby, Sr., the 87 year old father of GDVS Commissioner Mike Roby.
Commissioner Roby's father was a retired Army Sergeant Major, Vietnam Combat Veteran, who also served overseas in Germany, Korea, and South America. SGM Roby is survived by four sons, Larry, Robert Jr., Commissioner Roby, and Steve, as well as a daughter, Debbie Gregory. Collectively, the Roby men spent 107 years in military uniform
GDVS will pass on further information once funeral arrangements have been finalized by Williams Funeral Home – Milledgeville. Interment with military honors will take place at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery – Milledgeville.
Please keep the entire Roby family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time as we all mourn the loss of GDVS Commissioner Roby's father.
