"CONGRATULATION'S TO THE 2017 INDUCTEES"

TO GEORGIA MILITARY VETERANS HALL OF FAME

The Georgia Military Veterans' Hall of Fame (GMVHOF) Board of Directors and all previous Hall of Fame Inductees take great pleasure in extending our sincere congratulations to you on your well-deserved selection for induction into the GMVHOF. Your 17 Nomination Packets, along with 109 other Georgia Veteran's Nomination Packets from the years of 2015, 2016, and 2017 were evaluated and scored by the GMVHOF Independent Selection Committee which is comprised of ten highly honorable and dedicated Georgia Veterans. This evaluation and selection process was done in total secrecy and absolutely void of any outside influence. We know that you will be proud to know that your sterling active duty or reserve component duty record and post military life served you well and gained for you this rare and noble honor. The GMVHOF Class of 2017 is the fifth annual class inducted since the Hall's inception in 2013. Since 2013, including your class, a total of 83 Georgia Veterans will have been inducted out of 198 Nominations. The numbers inducted by year are: 2013 - 18; 2014 - 16; 2015 - 15; 2016 - 17, 2017 - 17.

The mission of the GMVHOF is (1) to honor Georgia Military Veterans; (2) to educate Georgia citizens, especially young Americans, of the sacrifices for freedom; and (3) to inform the public of the Inductee's outstanding accomplishments. The three categories that make up the GMVHOF are VALOR, ACHIEVEMENT, and SERVICE. The Bylaws of the GMVHOF require that no more than ten maybe selected for VALOR and no more than five may be selected from the combined categories of ACHIEVEMENT and SERVICE for an annual total of fifteen. If Medal of Honor Recipients are nominated, they are automatically inducted and are in addition to the fifteen. The 2017 Class is comprised of the following: MEDAL OF HONOR - 2; VALOR - 10, ACHIEVEMENT - 2; SERVICE - 3.

On Saturday, 4 November at the Fifth Annual GMVHOF Induction Ceremony and Banquet, you will be presented with the Georgia Military Veterans' Hall of Fame Medallion, Certificate, and Coin. The list of names of the GMVHOF 2017 Class along with other pertinent information is below and attached:
